- First the patient needs to have a dentist consultation or diagnosis. The patient also needs to have a well-planned decision on how he or she wants the result to be. Understanding the correct limitations of the procedure is also needed.
- Preparing the teeth follows the first step. This appointment may take one up to two hours. Teeth are lightly polished, half a millimeter of the tooth is removed to allow the small thickness of the veneer. This step may require a local anesthesia. During this appointment a mold is taken off the teeth. This mold will be sent to laboratory for the fabrication of veneer that may take one up to two weeks.
- The final step is the bonding of the veneers. First the dentist will check if the desired shade of color and shape is exactly what the patient wants. The color of the veneers cannot be altered or changed once it is cemented.

After the process the patient needs to maintain his or her new teeth. Brushing and flossing is strongly required.
