The city's Asian ethnicities can be broken down accordingly: Filipino (6.1%), Vietnamese (2.2%), Chinese (1.9%), Other Asian (1.5%), Japanese (0.8%), Korean (0.6%), and Asian Indian (0.6%).
San Diego’s median income per household was $45,733. The median income per family in San Diego was $53,060. Male residents of San Diego have a median income of $36,984 as compared to $31,076 for females. Houses in San Diego has a median value of $233,100 as of the year 2000. United States Navy bases and Marine Corps bases can be found in the City of San Diego. A Marine Corps’ Recruit Depot can be found in San Diego. This is one of the two Recruit Depots of the Marine Corps. San Diego is also the rival of Pensacola in the claim of being the birthplace of naval aviation. The city of San Diego is honored by having four Navy Vessels named USS San Diego, named after the city.
